Episode Summary: As Strength prepares to sacrifice herself in order to stop Yuu, Mato becomes determined to stop Black Rock Shooter from killing her. She ends up inside a blue world, where she herself is Black Rock Shooter, standing against Insane Black Rock Shooter. As Kagari and Arata also recover their painful memories, the revived people of the other world combine their strengths to give Mato the power to defeat Insane Black Rock Shooter, uniting the world as one. Upon regaining herself, Mato finds Strength in a weakened state, who assures Yuu that she'll be able to make friends in the real world and gives her thanks to Mato before disappearing into the wind. Afterwards, Yuu returns to her original body whilst Mato, having regained consciousness, reunites with Yomi. As life returns to normal, Mato, Yomi, Kagari and Yuu all become friends together whilst Strength returns to her place in the other world, alongside Black Rock Shooter. The episode ends with Black Rock Shooter saying she will continue fighting.

I’m still slightly confused by Yuu. How is she the same age she was when she first met Saya?

Her age wasnt specified when she met Saya and you can see that she is too much younger than it must be that she was very young at that time..:D

Anyhows I thought the anime ended perfectly. I was really upset about strengths death but they ended it with an ending which would not leave you to find out what happens next. Lots of good anime do leave out what happens next but not knowing what will happen in the end usually makes many rther torn and dissapointed. I’m happy to have found an anime with a satisfying ending for once (^w^)

This anime made me cry :’( but it was MAGNIFICENT. The battle scenes were so well executed, and the animation was flawless. THIS is how anime should be.

what?! it ended already?! geez, i want more of this! hopefully they’ll make another one…and i liked for giving moral at the end of the anime. yes, the fighting scenes were so smooth and good animation! although it was aired a long time ago it was very well done ^^..i think i like this better than those other overrated animes out there. aww..and yeah about yuu’s age how the hell she’s the same age as yomi, mato, and the others? when saya knew her since she was in her teenage years? anyways, that’s my only question for the day..the rest are fine only with yuu!

It does let you know what happens next. The story shows how using strength(holding it in side) instead of emotions makes your inner world black(because you kill your emotions). Its better to rely on emotion and have a light inner world. The end shows them fighting with emotion to keep there inner world light.

Fascinating anime. I liked the constant symbolism and representation by colors. My favorite part would have to be when it is revealed that the other world does actually exist, and is more than a mere representation of each character’s inner emotions as it initially appeared. I can imagine a lot of people not liking this is as it might be confusing. Some things aren’t even fully explained in the anime as it is assumed we would know, which is somewhat fair. Green was clearly jealousy, red was anger, yellow was fear, and then of course blue is a unique color that represents many things in symbolism including hope, sadness, sincerity, and even happiness. A perfect color for the protagonist. Then of course a corruption of that when it turns to purple, IE a muddying of the colors that would eventually lead to black which is likely both death and depression. I like symbolism in stories so I thought this was a great anime, but can understand a lot of people also like a clear cut and straight forward story, which this is clearly not. Now then, time to go watch the OVA. Hopefully it is as good. And to the person that will undoubtedly come along to tear this thought process to pieces, remember that heavy use of symbolism is often used because there can be many interpretations, rather than a clear and straight cut story. There is more than one conclusion here. It’s one of the best reasons to use symbolism in my opinion.
